Frequently asked questions

How long does the challenge take?

Most students finish the four micro-lessons and their essay in under an hour, but there's no time limit — go at your own pace anytime before May 31, 2026. 

Do I need a Civista Bank account?

Nope. The challenge is open to all eligible teens ages 13–18, regardless of whether you or your family bank with Civista. 

How is the winner selected?

All qualifying essay submissions are entered into a random drawing. 

What if I'm a teacher — can my class participate?

Absolutely. Share the challenge link with your students. If one of them wins, your classroom gets $500 too. It's a great way to bring financial literacy into your curriculum.
